Ben Youssef Khalil: Kaizer Chiefs' finishing must improve

Chiefs recorded back-to-back goalless draws against Chippa United and TS Galaxy, matches in which Khalil felt the team controlled large portions of play but ultimately failed to turn pressure into goals.

Those missed opportunities proved costly, as the results denied Amakhosi a chance to draw level on points with league leaders Orlando Pirates.

The finishing issues form part of a broader trend, with Chiefs currently the lowest-scoring team in the Betway Premiership's top five.

They have managed only 13 goals in 13 matches, a return that Khalil views as unsustainable for a side harbouring ambitions of challenging at the top end of the table.

While praising the effort and structure displayed in the recent stalemates, Khalil reiterated his concern about repeated missed goal-scoring chances, noting that the team's inability to finish promising moves has become an ongoing issue in their campaign.

"I think in both games, the most important thing is the performance of the team, we created lots of opportunities we have the same problem in the last third but we unlucky not to score," Ben Youssef told the media.

"Now we will have this break to fix the problem to think forward, how are we going to continue going forward.

"Like I said, we are so happy about the performance of the team last few games. I think the team performed very well but we missed points because we are not scoring the opportunities we get.

"We have to continue to work, we have to fix this problem. I think the most important thing is the performance of the team.

"The team is performing well; we don't have to be scared about the team when the team is not performing well that's a heavy problem."
