Betway Premiership: Last-placed Chippa to host title contenders Kaizer Chiefs

It is the club's second-last league fixture of the year, coming shortly after their taxing CAF group-stage commitments, where they managed just a single point from opening matches against Al Masry and Zamalek.

With only a handful of games remaining before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations break, the stakes are rising. Chiefs are determined to stay within touching distance of the title chase and are targeting a climb back into third place, currently occupied by Sekhukhune United.

Crucially, the Amakhosi still hold a game in hand, offering a valuable opportunity as the calendar tightens.

However, their form has been inconsistent, with only four wins recorded across their last 10 matches in all competitions.

That mixed run underscores the importance of maximising points this week, especially with just one additional fixture left in December - another away trip, this time to TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Sunday.

"We probably need to readjust and go back to the league again because the focus for now was still CAF," said defender Zitha Kwinika.

"The last time we played, against Orbit (College). We'll probably need to readjust and get back to the league."

Chippa United, meanwhile, enter the midweek encounter in worrying form. The Chilli Boys have failed to win any of their last five league outings, registering three defeats and two draws.

During that stretch, they have scored just once and conceded seven, beginning with a 2-1 loss to Marumo Gallants on 19 October and including a heavy 3-0 home setback against AmaZulu on 1 November. Most recently, they held Siwelele FC to a goalless draw on 29 November.
