Bukayo Saka commits long-term future to Arsenal with new five-year contract

The previous deal, a four-year extension agreed in 2023, had been set to run until June 2027, but negotiations over improved terms reached an initial breakthrough in January.

Despite reported interest from elsewhere, Saka was understood to be focused solely on extending his stay in north London.

Now Arsenal's vice-captain and reportedly the club's highest earner, the 24-year-old continues to be central to Mikel Arteta's project as the Gunners chase a first league title since 2004.

Saka has been instrumental in Arsenal's resurgence in recent seasons, playing a key role in their return to the UEFA Champions League after a six-year absence.

This term, he has registered seven goals in 33 appearances across all competitions for the table-toppers.

A product of the club's academy, Saka broke into the first team under former manager Unai Emery in 2019 and scored his first senior goal in a 3-0 Europa League win away to Eintracht Frankfurt. He has since amassed 296 senior appearances, scoring 77 times.

Internationally, Saka has earned 44 caps and scored 14 goals for England national football team, and is expected to feature prominently alongside Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham at this year's World Cup.
