Amakhosi have already secured third place on the league table - their highest finish since the 2019/20 season under Ernst Middendorp, when they ended runners-up to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The third-place finish also guarantees Chiefs a place in next season's CAF Confederation Cup.
A victory over Chippa would see Chiefs finish the campaign on 57 points, matching the total achieved during Middendorp's tenure in the season where they narrowly missed out on the league title on the final day.
Chiefs' turnaround under co-head coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze has been notable, especially after a difficult February in which the club exited both the Nedbank Cup and CAF Confederation Cup.
At that point, even a top-eight finish appeared uncertain after Chiefs had already failed to qualify for the MTN8 in the previous two seasons. Questions also surrounded the future of the coaching duo beyond the current campaign.
However, the team's strong finish to the season has revived optimism at the club, with management likely to view continuity as the best option moving forward.
"I'll summarise it as a good season. Of course, it could have been better, and we know there are areas where we still need to improve," Kaze said after Chiefs' 1-0 victory over AmaZulu.
"We wanted to compete for the title until the end, but there are important lessons we have learned that will help us going forward."
Chiefs have opted to remain in Durban for their final 'home' fixture instead of returning to Johannesburg, with the match initially scheduled to take place at FNB Stadium.
"Every time we play here, the fans come out in numbers and give us extra energy," added Kaze. "I'm humbled by the support they continue to show us, and we always want to repay them by making them happy."
While Chiefs have already secured their objectives, Chippa United head into the clash under significant pressure.
The Chilli Boys are currently only one point above the relegation play-off position and desperately need a positive result to guarantee their safety in their last match of the season.
