Chippa United land Chad midfielder Eric Mbangossoum

The 25-year-old first arrived in South Africa last season, joining SuperSport United after a four-year stint in Morocco with Union Touarga, where he established himself as a key figure in midfield thanks to his tenacious playing style.

While at SuperSport, Mbangossoum was utilised in various positions - operating both in midfield and as a centre-back in a three-man defence under then-head coach Gavin Hunt.

Following the club's off-season rebranding to Siwelele FC, his contract option was not exercised.

Now, Mbangossoum has resurfaced at Chippa United, who are currently holding their pre-season camp in Gauteng. According to iDiski Times sources, the club has confirmed they have agreed terms with the player on a two-year deal as they continue to strengthen their squad under new head coach Snethemba Badela.

The midfielder brings valuable international experience to the Chilli Boys, having earned 19 caps for Chad since making his senior debut in a 2019 FIFA World Cup qualifier at just 19 years old.

His arrival is expected to add stability and depth to Chippa's midfield as they prepare for the new season under Badela.
