Destiny Udogie 'doubtful starter' for Tottenham's clash at Wolves

Destiny Udogie 'doubtful starter' for Tottenham's clash at Wolves

The left-back had only recently returned from a hamstring injury and was trusted to start in Roberto De Zerbi's opening two matches in charge, against Sunderland and Brighton. His inclusion suggested he had regained fitness and rhythm at a key stage of the season.

However, concerns resurfaced during the 2-2 draw with Brighton when Udogie was forced off after 76 minutes. That substitution has now cast serious doubt over his availability for the trip to Molineux, a match that carries major importance for Spurs' position in the table.

Udogie's season has been disrupted by repeated fitness setbacks, and this latest issue could not come at a worse time. Tottenham are fighting to stabilise their campaign and get out of the relegation zone, and De Zerbi has already leaned on the Italian defender since taking charge.

If Udogie is ruled out, Djed Spence is expected to step in at left-back. Spence would face immediate pressure to deliver in what is shaping up to be a must-win fixture.

With the stakes rising and options limited, Tottenham's preparations now hinge on Udogie's fitness, as De Zerbi looks to secure a vital result on the road.
