Dillon Sheppard: Kaizer Chiefs should've taken the win against Golden Arrows

Amakhosi midfielder Lebohang Maboe had the chance to break the deadlock from the penalty spot, but his effort was saved as Fernando Da Cruz's side settled for another draw.

Assistant coach Sheppard admitted Chiefs did not do enough to force a winning result, while pointing to the penalty miss as a significant moment in their failure to collect maximum points.

"It was a fair result. They had a couple of chances, especially near the end, but overall, I think we deserved to win it if you look at the balance of the chances," he told the club's official website.

"We have been getting into the final third, which is where the action happens near the opposition box. Our creativity has been good; it's just a matter of sticking our chances away.

"The good thing is that we are creating chances. That's a positive so we just have to carry on with that."

The stalemate means Chiefs have managed just one point in four of their last five Betway Premiership outings, leaving them fourth in the standings. They remain behind third-placed AmaZulu.

Chiefs will have an opportunity to respond when they return to league action against Stellenbosch on Saturday, 17 October.
