Senegal seeks pardon for 18 fans jailed after AFCON final
Senegal's government has spoken out strongly against the sentencing of 18 of its football supporters in Morocco following the Africa Cup of Nations final in January.

The injury has raised fresh questions amid ongoing speculation over his future at the Stadium of Light.
The full-back sustained the injury during DR Congo's 1–1 draw with Senegal on Saturday.
Masuaku had started both of his country's group-stage matches in the tournament, but was forced off in the 73rd minute against Senegal after appearing to pick up a knock. At the time, the extent of the problem was unclear, prompting concern for both club and country.
An update has since been provided by DR Congo head coach Sebastien Desabre, who confirmed ahead of Tuesday's fixture against Botswana that Masuaku is dealing with a minor ankle sprain and is not fit enough to feature in the upcoming match.
"Tests revealed that he has a minor ankle sprain. He will miss tomorrow's match. His injury will be assessed in a few days," said Desabre.
While the injury is not believed to be serious, his absence is a blow for DR Congo as they continue their AFCON campaign.
From a Sunderland perspective, the situation is being closely monitored. Masuaku joined the Black Cats during the off-season transfer window, but his long-term future at the club has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks. With the January window approaching, reports have suggested a possible departure.
