Orbit College fixtures: Mswenko Boys face AmaZulu first
Orbit College are set for a difficult introduction to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership as they look prove their mettle in their maiden top-flight season.
The Motsepe Foundation Championship winners have overhauled their squad following promotion last season, under new head coach Gavin Hunt with the capture of nine fresh faces in total so far.
Ob Wednesday, they welcomed former Cape Town City players Haashim Domingo and Thabo Nodada as well as Kyle Jurgens from Stellenbosch and Botswana Premier League Player of the Season and Golden Boot winner Jean Lwamba from Tafic FC.
They join fellow new signings Darren Keet, Brooklyn Poggenpoel, Trevor Mokwena, Liam De Kock and Frederik Asare as part of the new-look squad.
A club post read: "Durban City FC has completed the signings of four players as the club prepares for its inaugural Betway Premiership campaign. The new additions bring top-flight experience and fresh energy to the squad ahead of Sunday's historic opener against TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium.
"Congolese forward Jean Lwamba joins from Tafic FC in Botswana on a two-year agreement. The 25-year-old enjoyed a strong debut season in the Botswana Premier League, scoring 15 goals and earning the league’s Player of the Season recognition. His arrival provides another attacking option for head coach Gavin Hunt.
"The club has secured two experienced campaigners from Cape Town City. Thabo Nodada, 30, brings over 200 Premiership appearances to central midfield, while versatile attacker Haashim Domingo (29) offers creative quality honed during spells with Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits, and Morocco’s Raja CA.
"Kyle Jurgens, a 21-year-old right-back, completes the signings. A product of Stellenbosch FC's development system, Jurgens has already made 51 senior appearances since his 2023 debut."
Club chairman Farook Kadodia added: "We're pleased to welcome these players at an important moment for the club. Their different qualities and experiences will be valuable as we begin this new chapter."
