England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford signs new Everton contract until 2029

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford signs new Everton contract until 2029

The 31-year-old joined Everton from Sunderland in 2017 for 30 million pounds - a British record for a goalkeeper at the time - and has since made 326 appearances. He has also won all 80 of his England caps while at the club.

Pickford's previous deal ran until 2027. His extension follows new contracts for defenders James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite as Everton look to secure key players under manager David Moyes.

"It shows the commitment I've made to Everton and the faith the club has shown in me," Pickford said. "It gives me the chance to build a legacy here and help move the club forward."

Pickford, a four-time Everton Player of the Year, said he hopes to emulate club legend Neville Southall, who holds the record for most appearances (751).

"I don't want to be too far behind him - if not in front - when my time comes to an end," he added.

Everton, who have made a solid start to the Premier League season, travel to Manchester City this weekend.
