England handed 'triple fitness boost' before Norway World Cup showdown

The trio took part in Friday's session after missing earlier training this week, giving head coach Thomas Tuchel more selection options for one of England's biggest matches of the tournament.

James has not featured in England's last three games because of a hamstring injury, leaving Tuchel short of experienced choices at right-back. His return is well timed, with Jarell Quansah unavailable following the red card he received in England's dramatic 3-2 last-16 victory over Mexico.

The Chelsea captain is now expected to return to the starting line-up if he is declared fully fit.

Guehi is also pushing to be available after managing a hamstring strain. The Manchester City defender could have the task of marking club teammate Erling Haaland if he starts against Norway.

Rice has also been dealing with a hamstring problem and was affected by illness earlier in the week. Despite those concerns, the Arsenal midfielder completed Friday's training session, raising hopes that he will be fit to play.

Rice and Guehi both completed the full 90 minutes in the victory over Mexico before sitting out Wednesday's training session alongside James.
