Mtsweni was handed the post following the exit of Bernard Parker, who left the club after a poor start to the season.
Parker oversaw seven games, including one win, three draws and three defeats.
Mtsweni was in charge for the 3-0 loss to Orlando Pirates last time out and is preparing his team for another tough test, against Kaizer Chiefs in the Last 16 of the Carling Knockout.
He expects to return to his role as DStv Diski Challenge coach once Club chairman Tim Sukazi has found a suitable replacement for Parker.
"I am an interim coach. That is entirely up to the chairman of the club. I can't really say I want to be permanent coach or not," Mtsweni told KickOff.
"As we speak now, I am here and tomorrow I am going back to the DDC. It's a little bit hectic for now, but the club will decide.
“I said to them [the players] we need to rest a bit because losing a game is not a good feeling, so I felt they need to go home and rest.
"We start again after two days so that we can recharge, correct our mistakes and prepare for the next match,” Mtsweni opened up further.
TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has revealed that Kaizer Chiefs marketing and commercial director Jessica Motaung contacted him after the Rockets published a social media post poking fun at AmaKhosi following the Carling Knockout last-16 draw.
TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi confirmed that he turned down an offer from Kaizer Chiefs for winger Seluleko Mahlambi during the recent transfer window.
Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is hopeful that Oswin Appollis has not suffered a serious injury after the influential attacker was forced off during their 3-0 Betway Premiership victory over TS Galaxy on Wednesday night.
Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns may have avoided each other in the Carling Knockout round of 16, but their respective fixtures present different challenges as they begin their campaigns in the competition.
