Estevao credits 'hard graft' for red-hot Chelsea form

The 18-year-old Brazilian opened the scoring by bursting from inside his own half, pulling away from Palace full-back Tyrick Mitchell and finishing with composure. It was a moment that highlighted his pace, confidence and growing influence in a Chelsea side that went on to secure an important away victory.

Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez were also on the scoresheet as Chelsea backed up Estevao's early strike with a controlled performance against a stubborn Palace team.

Speaking after the match, Estevao was keen to stress that the goal was the result of focused work rather than natural talent alone.

"I've been working a lot on speed," he said. "I know speed and physicality are important in the Premier League, so I've been training on that. It's good to see it already has results.

"It was an important goal because it helped us control the game, which was the most important thing against a difficult opponent. We did that, even in tough moments."

Despite being only a few months into his Chelsea career, Estevao had already made a clear impact. The Palace goal was his second in the league and his sixth in all competitions.

The winger also pointed to his tactical development since arriving in England. "My understanding of the game is what has improved the most," he said. "Knowing when to accelerate, when to hold the ball, and in one-v-one situations. The team really trusts me with these moments."

For Chelsea, it was another sign that Estevao's rapid progress was translating into decisive action on the pitch.
