Everton sign Irish goalkeeper Mark Travers on four-year deal

The 26-year-old arrives from Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee, bringing with him a wealth of experience from both domestic and international football.

Born in Maynooth, Leinster, Travers joined Bournemouth in 2016 and spent nine years at the south coast club, making 82 appearances.

During his time with the Cherries, Travers also gained valuable experience through several loan spells. He had stints at Weymouth, Swindon Town, and Stoke City, but it was his most recent loan at Middlesbrough that truly showcased his abilities.

He was the No. 1 goalkeeper for Boro during the second half of the 2024/25 Championship season, featuring in 20 league matches and playing a key role in their campaign.

On the international stage, Travers made his debut for the Republic of Ireland in September 2019 and has since earned four senior caps.

Known for his agility, commanding presence in the box, and sharp reflexes, he will be aiming to compete for the starting role at Goodison Park.

"I'm extremely proud and excited to be an Everton player. Coming in, you can feel how big this club is and the history that comes with it. You really feel that with the fanbase, the new stadium now as well and the direction the Club is going in," he told EvertonTV.

"It's a fresh start for me to come up here and try a new chapter in my career.

"It's a really exciting time to be part of this massive football club and I just can't wait to get going."
