Former Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin completes Leeds United transfer
Leeds United have secured the signing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a three-year deal, following his departure from Everton.
The 30-year-old Wales international becomes the Toffees' seventh addition of the summer window, following the arrivals of Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, Adam Aznou, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Jack Grealish.
King brings a wealth of experience across English football, having represented Millwall, Newport County, Salford City, Northampton Town, and Wolves, alongside loan spells at Welling United, Braintree Town, Stevenage, and Wimbledon.
His career highlight came during his time at Newport, where he set a world record in 2021 for the longest-range goal in competitive football - a 96.01-metre strike against Cheltenham Town. Remarkably, that effort surpassed the previous record held by former Everton goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
The shot-stopper joined Wolves in 2023 and spent two seasons at Molineux, making his Premier League debut in May 2025 against Brentford. His performances have also earned him international recognition, with King making his senior Wales debut in June 2024 during a friendly against Gibraltar.
"I'm absolutely delighted to join Everton. From the moment I heard of the interest, it's all I have thought about," he told Everton's official website.
"We have two extremely good goalkeepers here in Jordan [Pickford] and Travs [Mark Travers] and a young keeper in Harry [Tyrer]. My job is to push them as far as possible.
"The chance to learn off someone like Jordan, who has been England's number one for so many years, is a really big thing for me. I've come from a great goalkeeping unit already and I'm walking straight into another one at Everton.
"It's a chance to learn off Jordan and Travs, support Harry as much as I can, and, with my experience of playing through all the leagues and experiencing international football, help keep levels high every single day.
"It's such an exciting time for Everton, with the world-class stadium, too, and I can't wait to get going and be a part of it."
Everton manager David Moyes will view King's addition as valuable competition within the squad, especially with the club bolstering its ranks significantly this window.
