The 27-year-old defender has officially ended his stay with the Chilli Boys despite still having one year remaining on his contract, closing a chapter that saw him establish himself as a regular figure in the team.
Although details surrounding the separation have not been disclosed, Modise appears ready to pursue a new opportunity after two productive seasons with the Eastern Cape outfit.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns defender shared a heartfelt farewell message on Facebook, thanking the club's leadership, technical team and teammates for their support during his time at Chippa.
"Dear Chilli Boys Family, thank you for everything to the chairman and Mpengesi family, coaches, staff and my teammates. Thank you for your support, guidance and brotherhood. I will always cherish my time in these colours," he said
"Wishing you all continued success."
Modise leaves after playing a major role in Chippa's campaign last season, featuring consistently in defence as the club battled through a difficult season to retain its Betway Premiership status with an 11th-place finish.
His contribution extended beyond last season. Since arriving at the Chilli Boys ahead of the 2023/24 campaign on an initial loan move from Sundowns before signing permanently, the defender made 71 appearances across all competitions, contributing one goal and four assists.
With Modise now available on the market, attention turns to his next move while Chippa begin preparations for what could become a busy transfer window as they reshape their squad for the upcoming campaign.
