Lepasa recently returned to the matchday squad during Siwelele's 3-2 Betway Premiership defeat to Marumo Gallants after spending an extended period recovering from injury.
The former Orlando Pirates striker missed the beginning of the campaign and had not featured since 7 April last season, when he played against Chippa United.
However, Mosoetsa insists the club was never prepared to rush his return, with the forward first required to rebuild his fitness before being considered for selection.
The Siwelele coach also highlighted Lepasa's intelligence, professionalism and willingness to challenge himself as qualities that could benefit the team.
"Zakhele is one of the smartest players, both on and off the field. He is someone who is not afraid to ask challenging questions, but he remains humble," Mosoetsa said.
"The FIFA international break allowed him to build a fitness base because he hadn't been playing. Once the technical team and I felt he was ready, we decided to bring him into the team. We didn't rush him.
"We hope he will bring the qualities he is known for. We need players like him, particularly experienced players, to help us get out of the situation we are in."
Meanwhile, Mosoetsa has also welcomed the contribution of goalkeeper Jody February, who joined on a season-long loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Despite conceding three goals against Gallants, the coach believes the 30-year-old has brought much-needed stability and leadership to the team.
Siwelele will now face a major test when they meet Kaizer Chiefs in Sunday's Carling Knockout quarter-final at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Lepasa will be hoping to earn his first start of the campaign as he looks to make his second opportunity count.
