Golden Arrows and Stellenbosch FC share spoils in top-eight clash

After the interval, Abafana Bes'thende manager Mabhuti Khenyeza made a triple substitution, introducing Nhlanhla Gasa, Sboniso Madonsela, and Sabelo Sithole to inject life into the home side's attack. The tactical shift paid off in the 77th minute when Gasa scored from outside the box, side-footing a brilliant strike into the top centre of the goal after a rare error from Stephens.

Stellenbosch responded almost immediately. Just two minutes later, substitute Genino Palace latched onto a precise headed pass from fellow replacement Wonderboy Makhubu and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom-left corner to restore parity. The equalizer sparked a frantic finale, with Ashley Cupido forcing a solid save from Edward Maova and Mthetheleli Mthiyane narrowly missing from long range. Despite the late flurry, neither side could find a winner.

The draw keeps the top-eight battle incredibly tight. Golden Arrows move into eighth place, but only goal difference separates them from the chasing pack, while Stellenbosch remain in 10th, just behind TS Galaxy in ninth. Both sides will be keen to improve their attacking output in the coming fixtures to strengthen their chances of finishing in the playoff positions.
