Igor Tudor urges Tottenham to 'fight' as relegation threat grows before Liverpool clash

Spurs head to face defending champions Liverpool on Sunday sitting just one point above the drop zone after a disastrous run of results since Tudor replaced Thomas Frank on 14 February.

The Croatian has overseen four straight defeats since taking charge, including three in the league, while Tottenham have now lost six consecutive matches in all competitions. Their most recent setback came in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, when they were beaten 5-2 by Atletico Madrid after conceding four goals inside the opening 22 minutes.

Despite the bleak situation, Tudor insists the squad must change their mindset.

"It's not an easy moment, but it's a big challenge to change things," the 47-year-old said. "In life you can choose how to see the situation. You can stay and cry or you can fight.

"You can be the victim or you can say 'I can change something'. That is the message I gave to the players."

Tottenham's alarming form has left them hovering just above the bottom three with only a handful of matches remaining, raising the possibility of a first relegation from the English top flight since 1977.

Tudor believes the key to reversing the slump lies within the dressing room rather than outside influences.

"In the last period there has been a lot said about the club, the problems and why things are wrong," he added. "But it's about us. We are the team and the staff. All the other noise is nonsense - it's on us to change it."
