Abdeslam Ouaddou shares honest opinion on Orlando Pirates’ new third strip

Abdeslam Ouaddou shares honest opinion on Orlando Pirates’ new third strip

The Buccaneers advanced to the semi-finals of the competition after securing a 2-1 victory over the Limpopo-based outfit. Goals from Tshepang Moremi and Evidence Makgopa handed Pirates the win, while Lehlogonolo Mokone pulled one back for Magesi in the closing stages.

The match came at a crucial time for Pirates, who were eager to bounce back following their CAF Champions League preliminary-round exit at the hands of Saint Eloi-Lupopo.

In addition to their strong performance, the fixture drew attention as the Soweto giants unveiled their new blue-and-black third strip, replacing their traditional black-and-white colours for the night.

After the final whistle, Ouaddou was full of praise for his players’ performance but offered a frank take on the new jersey design.

“I think it’s beautiful, but the colours… I think we would have loved to play with our black, but yeah,” the Moroccan tactician told reporters.

The result saw Pirates continue their pursuit of silverware on multiple fronts as they now shift focus to Betway Premiership action.

Up next is a highly anticipated encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, where the Buccaneers will look to close the gap on the reigning league champions and boost their title hopes.
