Joao Felix joins Al-Nassr on permanent deal after Chelsea exit

Felix, 25, initially joined Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid in January 2023 before completing a permanent move in the summer of 2024 for around 46.3 million pounds, including add-ons.

He signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge but made just 20 appearances in all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign, scoring seven goals.

After struggling to establish himself in West London, Felix spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan, where he registered three goals in 19 outings. That move reportedly earned Chelsea a 5-million-pound loan fee.

Prior to his Milan spell, Felix spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Barcelona, making 44 appearances and scoring 10 goals. Despite flashes of brilliance, consistency eluded him across his various club stints in Spain and England.

Felix first rose to prominence with Benfica, where he scored 20 goals in 42 appearances, leading to a sensational 127.2-million-euro move to Atletico Madrid in 2019 - then the fifth-most expensive transfer in football history.

At Atletico, he made 131 appearances and netted 34 times before his eventual departure.
