Kaizer Chiefs climb up to fourth with comfortable win over Magesi

The hosts asserted control early on, creating several chances before eventually breaking the deadlock. Glody Lilepo was particularly lively in attack, going close in the 10th minute with a shot that drifted narrowly wide, while Lebohang Maboe tested Elvis Chipezeze five minutes later with a low effort at the near post. Lilepo also missed another opportunity, firing over the crossbar.

Chiefs' pressure paid off in the 32nd minute when Wandile Duba opened the scoring. Lilepo turned provider, slipping in Duba, who beat his defenders and finished confidently past Chipezeze.

Magesi struggled to create clear openings, with their best chance falling to Mcedi Vandala, who outpaced the defence but produced a weak effort that was comfortably handled by Bruce Bvuma.

After the break, Chiefs continued to dominate possession and territory. Mduduzi Shabalala forced a routine save from Chipezeze, while Gaston Sirino squandered a clear chance after being set up by Mfundo Vilakazi.

Vilakazi, however, made amends late on. In the 84th minute, the substitute reacted quickest after his initial effort was saved, calmly slotting home the rebound to seal the result.

The win lifts Chiefs into fourth place in the standings, just one point behind AmaZulu, who earlier defeated Polokwane City 1-0.

Chiefs had made three changes to their starting line-up, including Aden McCarthy replacing the injured Zitha Kwinika, but still produced a controlled and effective display.
