Karim Adeyemi's Borussia Dortmund dream: Chasing trophies and Marco Reus' legacy

The 23-year-old German star, renowned for his explosive pace, opened up about his dreams in a revealing interview with WAZ.

"I'm at home here. If I stayed with Dortmund for my entire career, I'd have no regrets," Adeyemi said, nodding to Reus' legendary 12-year stint with the Black and Yellow. "I'm not just saying what sounds good, I'm speaking from the heart."

Since joining Dortmund from RB Salzburg in 2022, Adeyemi has dazzled fans with his flair, notching six goals and seven assists in the 2024-25 Bundesliga season. His sights are set on delivering a trophy to the passionate supporters at Borsigplatz, Dortmund's iconic celebration square.

"Driving around Borsigplatz with the fans, holding a trophy, that's a huge dream," Adeyemi said. "I'm determined to make it happen."

While Adeyemi's heart lies with Dortmund, he left the door open to future possibilities. "If I ever moved, it'd be a personal choice, maybe to test myself in a new league," he admitted. "But staying at one club your whole career is rare and special. I respect what Marco Reus achieved here."

Recent X posts from Dortmund's official showcase Adeyemi's impact, with fans buzzing over his stunning solo goal against Augsburg in March 2025.

New coach Niko Kovac, who signed a contract until June 2026, praised Adeyemi's versatility in a press conference, saying, "Karim brings energy and unpredictability. He's key to our attacking plans."

Whether Adeyemi becomes a Dortmund lifer like Reus or seeks new challenges, his immediate focus is clear: ignite the pitch and deliver glory to the Yellow Wall.
