Sekhukhune United stage stunning comeback to reach MTN8 semi-finals
Sekhukhune United produced a dramatic comeback to defeat TS Galaxy 3-2 and secure their place in the MTN8 semi-finals on Saturday evening.
The Rockets, who finished fifth in the DStv Premiership and secured a spot in the MTN8, have undergone significant squad changes.
Keagan Dolly and Dzenan Zajmovic were released, while Kamogelo Sebelebele and Lebone Seema were sold to Orlando Pirates. All four featured prominently in the club's strong finish last season.
Speaking ahead of Galaxy's MTN8 quarterfinal clash with Sekhukhune United, Letsoenyo expressed confidence in the team's direction.
"We've lost key players but our team is known for producing more, so I don't think we are going to miss them that much as we have new signings who have filled those gaps," Letsoenyo told Sowetan.
TS Galaxy will face Sekhukhune at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday at 6pm, hoping to build on the momentum created under head coach Adnan Beganovic.
Now in his second season, Beganovic took charge last November, replacing Sead Ramovic six games into the campaign. His arrival sparked a turnaround that saw the club climb into the top five.
On Beganovic, Letsoenyo added: "He wants us to play possession football and since he introduced it last season when he was appointed as head coach he has been adding one or two things from what we have built."
To offset the departures, Galaxy have made five new signings: midfielder Jeffrey Dlamini from Royal AM, experienced striker Sedwyn George from Highbury FC, wingers Anslin Williams (JDR Stars) and Onke Moletshe (Venda FC), as well as centre-back Veluyeke Zulu.
