Luc Eymael slams Chippa United treatment as FIFA sanctions loom

The Eastern Cape outfit were instructed in February to pay their former coach R250,000 plus interest following a ruling in Eymael's favour. However, despite the decision being communicated on February 20, the Belgian mentor is still waiting to receive his money.

As previously reported, Chippa were also ordered to include 5% interest on the amount, calculated from December 1, 2025, until the full payment is settled. FIFA further stipulated that the club must comply within 45 days of receiving the confirmation letter or risk facing sanctions.

Eymael has now confirmed that deadline is fast approaching, with serious consequences looming for the club if they fail to act.

"I won the case against Chippa," Eymael told KickOff.

"They have until April 6 to pay me. If not, there will be a transfer ban. They will have to pay with 5% interest. If they don't pay, there will be another penalty, like a deduction of points."

The experienced coach expressed frustration at the situation, admitting he has never encountered such treatment elsewhere in his career.

Chippa's struggles off the pitch come at a difficult time, with the team currently sitting 13th in the Betway Premiership standings. They are just six points above bottom-placed Magesi FC, who still have a game in hand.

With the deadline looming, the pressure is now firmly on Chippa to settle the matter or risk further punishment that could impact both their squad and league position.
