Luis Diaz credits Bayern Munich teammates for his great current form

The Colombian winger joined Bayern in August after the German champions endured a frustrating summer pursuit of attacking reinforcements. Having missed out on Florian Wirtz, who joined Liverpool, and failed to land other targets such as Bradley Barcola, Nick Woltemade and Nico Williams, Bayern turned their attention to Diaz.

Barcelona were also keen but opted for Marcus Rashford, leaving the path clear for Bayern to secure Diaz for a fee of around seventy-five million euros.

Despite scepticism over the size of the investment in a 28-year-old entering the final two years of his Liverpool contract, Diaz has quickly silenced doubts with his impact on the pitch.

The former Porto forward has registered four goals and three assists in his first eight appearances across all competitions. His latest contribution came at the weekend, when he set up a goal in Bayern's win over Werder Bremen.

Speaking to Bild after that match, Diaz said: "The team is making it very easy for me on the pitch. We have a lot of great players, especially up front, who don't just think about scoring goals themselves, but also help their teammates. That gives me a lot of security and confidence. It's incredible to play attacks with them. I'm really, really happy and feel even better and more comfortable."

Diaz also highlighted the influence of Harry Kane, who has made a sensational start to the season with 15 goals in just eight games. "I knew he was top class from the Premier League, but training and playing with him has shown me just how complete he is," Diaz added.

Bayern chiefs will be relieved to see their marquee signing adapt so quickly. With Diaz and Kane forming a potent partnership, the Bavarians will hope this attacking duo can drive the team towards reclaiming the Champions League crown, a trophy they last lifted in 2020.
