Luis Diaz 'very happy' at 'special' club Bayern Munich

The 29-year-old Colombian moved from Liverpool for 75 million euros in 2025 and quickly established himself as a key attacking presence, registering 26 goals and 23 assists.

Bayern completed a domestic treble during his debut campaign, although their European journey ended in the semi-finals following a 6-5 aggregate defeat by Paris Saint-Germain.

Diaz remains delighted with his decision to join the Bavarian giants and believes the support of his team-mates and coaching staff helped him settle rapidly.

"For me, Bayern is special; it was something that came along and made me extremely happy at the time, and it continues to make me very happy," said Diaz.

"When you arrive and they make you feel as if you've been a part of the group for a very long time - making you feel like family - I think it makes it quite a bit easier to adapt.

"When the collective works, the individual thrives too."

He has also praised Vincent Kompany's tactical approach, particularly the balance between attacking freedom and defensive discipline. Diaz insists Bayern cannot afford to relax after their domestic success and must compete for every trophy available.

"We have to go for everything - every single competition we are in, and push for the lot," said Diaz.

On Kompany, he added: "He gives you the freedom to play, obviously while respecting your specific duties on the pitch.

"He demands a bit more in that we all have to defend together, ensuring we maintain strong positioning to defend better."
