Marcelo Allende hints at Mamelodi Sundowns exit with final season admission

Speaking about his future ahead of Sundowns' FIFA Intercontinental Cup clash against Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday, the midfielder acknowledged that his current situation could lead to change in the future.

"I think I'm very professional. I have my last year here for now and I will try to do my best in the final year," Allende told the media.

The 27-year-old made it clear that while his future remains uncertain, his immediate focus is on giving his best for Sundowns and helping the club achieve its objectives.

Allende also revealed that his family will support whatever decision he makes regarding the next chapter of his career.

For now, however, the midfielder has shifted his attention towards Saturday's high-profile encounter, with Sundowns facing Al Ahli for a place in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final.

The Brazilians will have to overcome the Saudi Arabian giants before they can think about a potential meeting with European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the final.

Allende believes Sundowns must rise to the occasion and demonstrate their quality when they take on Al Ahli.

"I must say we need to prove ourselves and get the results in the game," Allende concluded.

Marcello joined Downs back in 2022 and the former Chile youth international has went on to establish himself as one of the key players at the Pretoria based outfit.
