Newly promoted Durban City claim first Betway Premiership victory against TS Galaxy
Durban City claimed a 2-0 victory away from home against TS Galaxy in their debut Betway Premiership encounter at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.
Mbombela Stadium chosen as MTN8 final venue
Orlando Pirates will face Stellenbosch in the final showpiece on September 13 at 6pm, in a repeat of last season's match where Pirates claimed victory with a 3-1 win.
The Buccaneers secured their final place this time around with a 4-1 penalty shootout win over Mamelodi Sundowns after their two semi finals ended in 1-1 draws, while Stellies defeated Sekhukhune United 3-1 on aggregate over two legs.
It is the first time the Mbombela Stadium will host the MTN8 final since 2016 when Bidvest Wits defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0.
The news was announced during Wednesday's draw at PSL headquarters.
