The 19-year-old joined the Danish side from the Benfica academy in 2023 and had been a regular in the club's youth and reserve sides.

He made seven appearances on loan with Portuguese second division side CD Mafra last season and has also made two senior appearances for Midtjylland.

According to local police, Djabi, who hails from Guinea-Bissau, was injured during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Part of a club statement confirmed that the player had been "in critical condition and underwent emergency surgery".

"Since then, he has undergone another operation, and thanks to the professional efforts of the emergency responders and later the hospital staff, his condition is now stable.

"He has awakened from an induced coma and is doing well under the circumstances."
