Mamelodi Sundowns land Cele after Kaizer Chiefs departure
Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly signed midfielder Thabo Cele as a free agent as they add depth to their squad following his recent exit from Kaizer Chiefs.

The 27-year-old midfielder has featured 89 times in the 97 matches Sundowns have played since Cardoso took charge on 10 December 2024.
Only Tashreeq Matthews has matched that appearance tally, although Allende has accumulated significantly more playing time, with 6,905 minutes compared with Matthews' 5,355.
Only goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has logged more minutes under Cardoso, having played 7,168.
Allende's remarkable consistency has been evident throughout his five-year stay at Sundowns. Since arriving from Montevideo City Torque in a big-money move, he has remained a regular under different coaches, averaging 44 appearances across each of his previous four campaigns.
"For me, it's a very surprising thing that Marcelo is performing consistently in South Africa for so many years and still hasn't received an award for midfielder of the season, especially when we see a winger receiving that trophy," said Cardoso.
Allende currently tops the club's outfield players for both appearances and minutes, providing further evidence for Cardoso's appreciation of his contribution.
