Mohamed Salah credits Arne Slot for career-best form after title-winning season

The Egyptian forward was on target again in Liverpool's emphatic 5-1 demolition of Tottenham on Sunday, taking his league tally to 28 goals and 18 assists in 34 appearances. Salah's blistering form has not only powered Liverpool to domestic glory but also catapulted him into serious contention for the Ballon d'Or.

Salah credited Slot's tactical clarity and willingness to adjust based on player input as key to his success.

"He's quite tough. But he made our life easier because immediately he knew what he wanted from us. I'm glad we won it here," Salah was quoted by KingFut.

When asked whether Slot had made him a better player, Salah pointed to his remarkable statistics.

"You can see the numbers. It seems so. Now I don't have to defend much. His tactics are quite different. I told him, 'As long as you rest me defensively, I will deliver offensively. Rest me as much as you can, and I'll show you the numbers.' And I'm glad I did."

Slot's flexibility in adapting to player feedback was another factor Salah highlighted.

"It was the manager's idea, but he listened a lot. I spoke to him, and you can see the results."

Salah noted that he has been given more freedom in attack under Slot's system.

"In the Premier League, you usually have to defend a lot. But I told him I can gamble here and there. When I get the ball, I'm free to create and make the difference. The number of assists shows that it's not just about goals but also creating chances that change the game."

With the league title now secured, Salah has his sights set on another record - the Premier League single-season assist record, currently shared by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne (20 assists).

With 18 assists already, Salah needs just three more from Liverpool's final four fixtures - against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton, and Crystal Palace - to set a new benchmark.
