Jurgen Klopp gives heartfelt salute to Arne Slot as Liverpool crowned Premier League champions

On Sunday, as Liverpool thrashed Tottenham 5-1 to seal their Premier League title, the former Reds boss was among the first to send his love and congratulations to the team -  and to his successor, Arne Slot.

Klopp, who called time on his legendary nine-year spell at the club last season citing burnout, had helped return Liverpool to footballing greatness, guiding them to glory in the 2019 Champions League, 2020 Premier League, and 2022 FA Cup.

Now, under Slot's watch, the new era has begun with a bang.

In a touching Instagram post, Klopp shared a photo of the jubilant Anfield scenes, captioning it with a heartfelt message: "Super grateful for the past, super, super happy about the present, extremely positive about the future!

"Congratulations - (You Never Walk Alone). Thank you - Luv."

Slot, who only took the reins this season, joins an elite group of managers to win the Premier League in their debut campaign - his name now alongside the likes of Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti. Even more impressively, he clinched the title with four games to spare, thanks to Liverpool's blistering form - 25 wins in 34 matches, holding the top spot since November 2, 2024.

The title celebrations are far from over. The champions will receive a guard of honour next weekend at Stamford Bridge and will officially lift the trophy on the final day at home against Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, an open-top bus parade is set for the bank holiday Monday following the season finale, taking the victorious Reds on a 15km route through the heart of Liverpool.
