The Egyptian forward signed a two-year contract with Trabzonspor, with the club confirming he will earn 17 million euros per season.
He will also receive a 20 per cent share of merchandise sold under his name, as well as performance-related bonuses, although the club did not disclose the details of those incentives.
Thousands of supporters packed the airport and later gathered at the club's stadium to welcome the 34-year-old, creating a spectacular atmosphere with flares, fireworks and chants.
Salah admitted he was overwhelmed by the reception.
"It's a great feeling and I showed a lot of love, so I'm really happy about that for sure," Salah said.
Reflecting on the reception from nearly 25,000 fans, he added: "I have never had such a welcome."
The former Liverpool star also made it clear that his aim is to add more silverware to his impressive collection.
"I'm looking forward to train with the team and also I'm looking forward, hopefully everywhere I go I always try to win something so hopefully we can do something good in the league and in Europe as well," he said.
Salah also sent an emotional message to Trabzonspor supporters in a promotional video released by the club.
"Trabzon, are you ready? I can hear you. See you very soon," he said before joining fans in their famous chant: "Bir, iki, üç... Trabzon!"
Salah arrives in Turkey after an unforgettable nine-year spell at Liverpool, where he established himself as one of the club's greatest players. He scored 257 goals in 442 appearances and helped the Reds win two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
His final season at Anfield was more challenging, with reduced playing time in some Champions League matches and a public disagreement with then-manager Arne Slot.
Before making his name at Liverpool, Salah began his European career with Basel before moving to Chelsea. He later revived his career during successful spells with Fiorentina and AS Roma, earning his transfer to Anfield in 2017.
Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season to secure a place in the UEFA Europa League play-off round. The club last won the league title in the 2021-22 season and will hope Salah's arrival can inspire another successful era.
Trabzonspor play Kasımpasa S.K. next on Saturday, 15 August on their season opening Turkish Super Lig match at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium.
