Semi Ajayi set for Hull City comeback after Nigeria duty concern
Hull City have received a timely boost ahead of their Championship clash against Oxford United, with Semi Ajayi returning to full training after a brief injury concern.

The 18-year-old was handed a late call-up to England's U19 squad for the first qualifying round of the 2027 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. He came off the bench in the 77th minute during a 4-1 victory over Bulgaria, a result that provisionally ties him to England under FIFA regulations.
Casey replaced Chizaram Ezenwata, who had already made a significant impact on the match by scoring twice in the first half as England established a commanding 3-1 lead.
Prior to this, Casey had featured for England at U16 and U18 levels. However, those appearances came in friendly matches and did not affect his international eligibility.
His latest outing, though, changes the situation. Because it was in an official competition, any future switch to Nigeria would now require a formal one-time change of association approved by FIFA.
Casey's rise has been rapid. He made his senior debut for Crystal Palace in December 2025, appearing as a late substitute in a 3-0 win over Shelbourne in European competition.
Nigeria have successfully navigated similar situations in the past. Both Ademola Lookman and Ola Aina represented England at youth level in competitive fixtures before switching allegiance to the Super Eagles with FIFA approval.
However, not every pursuit has been successful. The Nigeria Football Federation previously missed out on Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, both of whom opted to continue their international careers elsewhere.
One notable success remains Victor Moses, who switched allegiance from England to Nigeria and went on to enjoy a distinguished international career.
For Casey, the path remains open - but now comes with added complexity, as Nigeria would need to secure FIFA's approval to complete any future switch.
