Milan set to listen to offers for Super Eagles this summer
Serie A giants AC Milan are reportedly open to listening to offers for Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze this summer, as the 25-year-old's future at the club appears uncertain.
Chukwueze, who has found regular starts hard to come by this season, came off the bench in the second half and delivered a standout performance - registering his first assist of the season and helping to spark Milan's turnaround.
Speaking after the match, Conceicao admitted he may have misjudged the Super Eagles star's readiness.
"He hasn't played for a long time and wanted to show the coach that I was wrong not to start him," the Portuguese coach told Milan Post.
"That's the kind of response you want - he made me question my selection. It's a great sign."
With star winger Rafael Leão suspended, Conceicao had chosen to start Christian Pulisic and Joao Felix, leaving Chukwueze on the bench once again.
Despite Milan's dominance in the first half, they failed to take their chances and were punished when Bologna's Riccardo Orsolini scored just before halftime.
Chukwueze entered the fray in the 65th minute and immediately added pace and intent to Milan's attack. Santiago Gimenez netted the equaliser before Pulisic gave Milan the lead. In stoppage time, Chukwueze capped off his contribution with a pinpoint assist for Gimenez's second, sealing the comeback win.
Although the 25-year-old has made just nine Serie A starts this season, his performance - featuring two chances created and one assist - could prove to be a turning point in his campaign.
The victory moves AC Milan to eighth place in the Serie A standings, just three points off fourth-placed Juventus, keeping their Champions League hopes alive. With competition heating up in the squad, Chukwueze's timely resurgence adds a new dimension to Milan's push for a strong finish.
