Milan set to listen to offers for Super Eagles this summer

Chukwueze, who made the move from Spanish club Villarreal to Milan three years ago, has yet to live up to the high expectations placed upon him at the San Siro, Daily Post reported.

While his pace and technical ability were key factors in Milan's decision to bring him in, the Nigerian international has struggled to find consistency and make a significant impact in Italy's top flight.

Despite flashes of brilliance, the Super Eagles star has been unable to secure a regular starting spot in Milan's competitive squad. His performances have been largely overshadowed by the form of other key players, and as a result, he's been left on the fringes of the team.

As Milan plans for the future, Chukwueze is now considered surplus to requirements for the 2024/25 season.

Reports suggest that the club is willing to part ways with the winger and are ready to entertain offers for him during the upcoming transfer window. This comes as AC Milan continues to reshape their squad in an effort to challenge for major honours both domestically and in Europe.

Chukwueze's potential departure from Milan was signposted earlier in the year when the Nigerian forward was heavily linked with a move to Premier League club Fulham during the January transfer window.

While a deal appeared to be on the cards, the transfer did not materialize, and Chukwueze remained with the Rossoneri. His potential move to the Premier League was reportedly in part motivated by his desire for more consistent first-team football, something that has been hard to come by at Milan.

Last summer, Chukwueze also turned down a highly lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, choosing instead to stay in Europe and try to prove his worth at Milan.

However, with his playing time still limited, the winger may now be open to new opportunities, particularly as clubs in both the Premier League and La Liga continue to monitor his situation.

Chukwueze has attracted interest from multiple top-flight clubs across Europe, with Premier League sides still believed to be keen on securing his services. His pace and dribbling ability are seen as major assets, and several teams in England, Spain, and even Saudi Arabia are reportedly keeping tabs on his status, making this summer a crucial one in terms of his career.

This season, the Nigerian international has made 24 appearances in Serie A, scoring three goals and providing some important contributions in Milan's attacking line.

While his goal tally might not seem impressive for a winger of his calibre, Chukwueze's ability to create space and stretch opposition defences has not gone unnoticed. However, the lack of consistent starts and his inability to fully showcase his potential may be the reasons why Milan are considering his departure.
