Nottingham Forest await key injury boosts ahead of Liverpool clash

Sean Dyche's side went into the break on a high after a 3-1 victory over Leeds United at the City Ground, a result that lifted Forest further from the relegation zone and boosted confidence across the squad. The win was their first in three league matches and came at a time when the Reds have been battling a series of injury setbacks.

Dyche has admitted that the international break could not have come at a better time, giving his players a chance to recover and regroup. "It's been a tough run with injuries, but the break gives us a chance to get some of the lads back and work on a few things," the Forest manager said.

Veteran striker Chris Wood, who has been sidelined with a knee problem, is expected to make his return when Forest travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on 22 November. Before the Leeds match, Dyche hinted at the New Zealand international's progress, saying: "Maybe after the Leeds game there's a stronger chance."

Callum Hudson-Odoi is also set to return after recovering from a dead leg that kept him out of recent fixtures. Both players' comebacks would provide a timely lift for Forest, who will need depth and experience against Arne Slot's high-flying Liverpool.

However, Dyche still has several players working their way back to fitness. Douglas Luiz remains out with a hamstring injury suffered in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United. Dyche admitted the midfielder's recovery would "not be a quick situation."

Oleksandr Zinchenko, on loan from Arsenal, continues to nurse a groin injury sustained in the Europa League clash against FC Porto on 23 October, while goalkeeper Angus Gunn is sidelined after damaging knee ligaments. Winger Dilane Bakwa and full-back Ola Aina are also making progress but have no confirmed return dates.

With Liverpool next on the schedule at Anfield, Dyche will be hoping Forest's improving form and the expected return of two influential players can help them continue their climb up the table.
