Orlando Pirates confirm Mohau Nkota's move to Saudi Pro League side Ettifaq

Nkota, who made an immediate impact in his first senior campaign, racked up 12 goal contributions in 39 appearances across all competitions. His performances not only earned him a regular spot in the Pirates' starting XI but also caught the attention of national selectors, leading to a Bafana Bafana call-up.

The club confirmed the agreement shortly after their 1-1 preseason draw against Pafos FC, a match Nkota did not feature in.

"Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached for the permanent transfer of Mohau Nkota to Ettifaq Club in the Saudi Pro League," read the club's official statement. "The move is subject to the 20-year-old agreeing to personal terms and passing a medical," read the statement.

Though still pending final details, the transfer signals a major step forward for Nkota, who now joins a growing list of young African talent opting to test themselves in Saudi Arabia's rapidly growing top flight.

"Everyone at Orlando Pirates wishes Mohau Nkota the very best as he begins this exciting new chapter in his career. May he continue to soar and carry the Buccaneers' spirit with pride - because remember: Once and Always!," the statement concluded.

Nkota's departure is a loss for Pirates but also a clear sign of the club's growing reputation for developing talent ready for the global stage.
