Pep Guardiola: Man City too dependent on Erling Haaland for goals

Haaland scored both goals in City's 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday, taking his Premier League tally to 11 for the season and 23 across all competitions for club and country. Despite the striker's continued excellence, Guardiola expressed concern over the lack of support from the rest of his attacking lineup.

Following the match at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola said that while he was pleased with Haaland's contribution, other players need to share the responsibility in front of goal.

"We cannot rely on just him," Guardiola said. "Wingers, attacking midfielders, they have to make a step up and score goals."

His comments reflect a growing issue in the squad, as no other City player has scored more than once in the league so far this season. Haaland has accounted for 13 of the team's 17 goals.

Guardiola highlighted missed opportunities from Savinho, Jeremy Doku and Tijjani Reijnders during the Everton match, emphasizing that these chances must be converted at this level.

"The chances we create are so clear," he said. "Savinho had two, Jeremy had two, Tijjani had another one - and they have to score. If we don't create, it's fine. But when we do, we have to score. They know it. We talk about it for a long time. In training sessions, they are good at finishing, so they have to do it."
