Mamelodi Sundowns youngster Sibiya set for sensational move to Lille
Mamelodi Sundowns and South Africa youth international left-back Thato Sibiya is reportedly closing in on a move to French Ligue 1 side Lille for the 2026/27 season.

Kaizer Chiefs winger Langelihle Phili has explained the emotions behind his passionate celebration after scoring his first goal for Amakhosi against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Phili put Chiefs ahead in the 63rd minute at FNB Stadium, before removing his shirt and celebrating with his teammates in front of the home supporters.
The 21-year-old has made an encouraging start since joining Chiefs from Stellenbosch FC, winning the Man-of-the-Match award during their 2-0 victory over Sekhukhune United before opening his goalscoring account against Sundowns.
Although Chiefs were eventually held to a 1-1 draw, Phili admitted scoring against the African champions was a special moment and one that meant a great deal to him.
"Obviously, being at such a great football institution as Kaizer Chiefs, you want to play in the big games," Phili told Chiefs media.
"Being able to play and score against Mamelodi Sundowns, the African champions, was huge for me, as could be seen from my celebration."
The former Stellenbosch player also spoke about what it means to represent one of South Africa’s biggest clubs and praised those who have helped him settle into life at Naturena.
"For me to represent Kaizer Chiefs is an honour and a privilege, and being able to help the team is a testament to the people within the club and the organisation who have welcomed me with open arms," he added.
Chiefs have made a positive start to their Betway Premiership campaign, collecting seven points from their opening three matches under head coach Fernando Da Cruz.
Their only disappointment so far came in the MTN8, where they suffered a 1-0 quarter-final defeat to Golden Arrows.
The result has, however, allowed Da Cruz additional time on the training ground to work with his squad ahead of their next league fixture.
Chiefs will travel to face Richards Bay on August 26, with Phili looking to build on his impressive start.
Da Cruz has stressed that the youngster still has room for improvement, something Phili appears determined to embrace as he continues his development at Chiefs.
