Proteas Women down Pakistan by two wickets in tense ICC WT20 World Cup clash

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat in Africa in Birmingham scoring 126 runs in their allotted 20 overs, after recovering from a tough start, which saw the top five batters fail to reach double figures and a four run outs in the first innings.

However, Fatima Khan's unbeaten 55 off 38 balls helped Pakistan get to a more respectable score with the assistants of Tuba Hassan who scored 23 off 27 balls as the Proteas Marizanne Kapp picked up bowling figures of 3/23.

Annerie Dercksen led the run chase for the Proteas scoring 52 runs from 32 balls while number four batter Nadine De Klerk added 37 off 28 before a brief collapse saw the African side slip from 76/3 to 107/6 in just four overs.

Shabnim Ismael scored the winning run with 19 balls to spare as South Africa bounced back from their loss to Australia in their opening clash while Pakistan remain winless after their loss to India as well.
