PSG rally to beat Spurs 5-3 in UEFA Champions League thriller in Paris

Vitinha stole the headlines after scoring a superb hat-trick for the Ligue 1 giants.

The result leaves PSG on the brink of reaching the knockout phase, having now won four of their five matches in this season's league phase and positioned strongly to secure a top-eight finish, which would send them directly into the last 16.

Tottenham, however, struck first. Richarlison pounced early to give the visitors the lead, capitalising on a bright start from Thomas Frank's side. PSG responded just before the interval, with Vitinha firing in the equaliser to shift momentum back towards the hosts.

The second half delivered even more drama. Randal Kolo Muani, on loan from PSG and facing his parent club, restored Spurs' advantage shortly after the restart.

Yet their lead was short-lived, as Vitinha swiftly struck again to level the match once more. Kolo Muani then shocked the home crowd by netting his second of the night, but Tottenham's defensive frailties soon unravelled spectacularly.

Fabian Ruiz punished slack marking to edge PSG in front, before Willian Pacho extended the lead with a composed finish. Vitinha later completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot, sealing a memorable night for the Portuguese midfielder.

PSG ended the match with ten men after Lucas Hernandez was sent off late on, though the dismissal had little impact on the final outcome.

For Spurs, the defeat deepens concerns. They drop to 16th in the league-phase standings, having conceded 11 goals in their last three matches and winning only three of their previous 12.

"I am very pleased with the performance. Today was much more the identity of the team, the bravery and aggressiveness of the team," Frank told TNT Sports.

"There were lots of positives, the two strikers scoring three goals between them, the whole team performed really well."
