Report: Bayern Munich launch fresh bid for Stuttgart's star striker Nick Woltemade

The Bundesliga giants are determined to secure the 23-year-old German international's signature, according to Bild.

The champions' first offer of 40 million euros plus 5 million euros in bonuses was swiftly turned down by Stuttgart, who value their talismanic forward closer to 80 million euros. With Woltemade's contract running until 2028, Stuttgart hold a strong position in negotiations.

However, Bild reports that Bayern are set to table a second bid this week, potentially exceeding 65 million euros. If that figure is met, Stuttgart's board have agreed to consider sitting down for face-to-face talks with Bayern to discuss a possible transfer.

Stuttgart's sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth has remained resolute, stating on July 11, "We made a long-term agreement with Nick almost a year and a half ago. That agreement stands."

Meanwhile, club chairman Alexander Wehrle has left the door slightly ajar, saying on July 13, "We're counting on Nick for next season, but if something extraordinary comes up, we're all professionals enough to talk about it."

The transfer saga has gained traction on X, with posts indicating Woltemade's desire to join Bayern. Fabrizio Romano reported, "Woltemade's camp rejected a new direct approach from a Premier League club this week, as he only wants Bayern. Five-year contract fully agreed."

This sentiment was echoed by @Plettigoal on the same day, noting, "No chance for other clubs. Nick Woltemade has personally informed VfB Stuttgart that if he leaves this summer, he will only join FC Bayern."

Woltemade, who scored 17 goals across all competitions last season and led the DFB-Pokal in scoring, has emerged as one of Europe's most coveted forwards. Bayern's urgency to sign him has been amplified by a recent injury to their star midfielder Jamal Musiala, prompting the club to rethink their initial plan to loan Woltemade back to Stuttgart for further development.

As the transfer window progresses, Bayern's persistence and Stuttgart's firm stance promise a gripping battle. Fans across the Bundesliga are watching closely to see if the champions can meet Stuttgart's lofty valuation and secure their man.
