Report: Chelsea star Axel Disasi becomes 'top target' for Bournemouth

Andoni Iraola's side enjoyed a historic 2024-25 campaign, finishing ninth in the Premier League with a club-record 56 points. Several players flourished under his guidance, and the club has since been active in reshaping the squad.

Kepa Arrizabalaga returned to Chelsea before sealing a switch to Arsenal, while Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Illia Zabarnyi and Dango Ouattara have all departed.

Incoming reinforcements include Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, as well as Adrien Truffert, Bafode Diakite, Ben Doak and Amine Adli.

Disasi has been identified as Bournemouth's "clear top target" at centre-back, particularly following the sales of Huijsen and Zabarnyi.

The club is keen to reunite him with Petrovic, his former Stamford Bridge teammate. Talks have accelerated in recent days, with Bournemouth making direct contact with Chelsea to work out the "final formula" of the deal.

Chelsea, who paid Monaco 38.5 million pounds for Disasi in August 2023, are currently focused on offloading fringe players.

The 26-year-old has slipped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, and Bournemouth believe he could be secured for a reduced fee, considering his perceived undervaluation by the Blues.
