Captain Son Heung-min: Ange Postecoglou is a Tottenham 'legend'
Tottenham captain Son Heung-min has hailed Ange Postecoglou as a "legend" who "changed the trajectory of this club" after the 59-year-old manager was sacked on Friday.
The 27-year-old has attracted interest from Bayern Munich, who initially approached Chelsea in January. While Nkunku was receptive to the move, the German champions were discouraged by the Blues' 50 million-plus asking price.
Despite the setback, Nkunku remains open to joining Bayern, where he previously thrived with RB Leipzig, scoring 47 goals in 119 Bundesliga appearances.
However, a return to the Bundesliga isn't the only option. Tottenham Hotspur have recently enquired about Nkunku's availability, hoping to keep him in London. The Frenchman is understood to be equally receptive to staying in the Premier League.
Nkunku endured a mixed campaign at Stamford Bridge. After arriving in the summer of 2023 for 53 million pounds, his debut was delayed due to a knee injury suffered in pre-season against Borussia Dortmund. Following surgery, he finally made his Chelsea debut in December.
In the 2024/25 season, Nkunku made 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 5 assists. However, he managed only 3 goals in the Premier League, starting just 9 league matches out of 33 appearances.
His season ended in disappointment as he remained an unused substitute during Chelsea's 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final.
