This was their lowest finish in the competition's history and worst top-flight performance since the 1973-74 relegation.
Berrada emphasised that the 2024-25 season had "fallen far short of the club's standards" and made clear that improvement is non-negotiable.
The campaign ended in further disappointment with defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final in Bilbao, denying United both a trophy and a Champions League return.
"We were proud to reach the final of the UEFA Europa League but, ultimately, we were disappointed to finish as runner-up in Bilbao," said Berrada.
"We had a difficult season in the Premier League, which we all know fell below our standards and we have a clear expectation of improvement next season."
Manager Ruben Amorim, who took over in November 2024, openly admitted the squad may have been the weakest in the club's 145-year history.
Despite the grim assessment, Amorim retains the support of the board and is preparing for his first full season in charge - with full influence over recruitment and squad planning.
The rebuild is already underway. Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha has been brought in, while Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo is being actively pursued to revitalise the attack.
