Report: Everton consider move for Villarreal striker Thierno Barry

The 22-year-old forward enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign, netting 19 goals in 41 appearances and playing a pivotal role in Villarreal's qualification for the Champions League.

Signed from FC Basel for around 15 million euros last summer, Barry is under contract until 2029, with a release clause set at 40 million euros.

Villarreal are determined to keep hold of the French striker, especially as they face the potential departure of winger Alex Baena to Atletico Madrid.

With rival clubs also expressing interest, Everton may need to act swiftly and decisively to secure Barry's signature.

Moyes remains intent on bringing in a new striker regardless of the club's situation with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose contract expires on 30 June.

The England international could be released, adding urgency to Everton's pursuit of reinforcements up front.

While the club are reportedly content with Beto's performances, the future of promising young forward Youssef Chermiti is also in question.

The 20-year-old is seen as a hot prospect but may be sent out on loan next season, irrespective of Calvert-Lewin's status.
