The Merseyside club's offer comes after earlier talks this month and remains on the table as negotiations continue. Crystal Palace value Guehi at 40 million pounds and have signaled they would accept a deal structured at 35 million pounds plus 5 million pounds in performance-related add-ons.
Palace are reluctant to part with their captain without first securing defensive reinforcements. Guehi, 25, has entered the final year of his contract and has indicated he does not intend to sign an extension - raising the pressure on Palace to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Talks have also included discussions over Liverpool defender Joe Gomez. Palace are interested in signing the versatile centre-back, but any potential transfer would be separate from the Guehi deal. Liverpool have made it clear they would not sanction a loan for Gomez and remain hesitant to sell him outright, given his utility across their backline.
Gomez is also attracting interest from other clubs, including AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur, though Milan are currently prioritizing a move for Manchester City's Manuel Akanji - another player Palace have considered.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner has publicly stated his strong desire to keep Guehi, emphasizing the player's integral role in the team's defensive stability. Speaking ahead of the weekend, Glasner said:
"From my side, he has to [stay] because it's not possible at the moment to find a Marc Guehi replacement who can play straight in the Premier League, being a starter, being consistent. Marc is a crucial part of our success. If he wanted to leave, it would have happened already."
Despite Glasner's insistence, Palace are actively pursuing defensive targets to prepare for Guehi's possible exit. Talks are well advanced for 19-year-old Toulouse centre-back Jaydee Canvot, in a deal worth 22.5 million pounds. The Eagles are also targeting a more experienced defender, having made approaches for Manchester City's Akanji and Roma's Evan Ndicka.
Their top choice, Sporting's Ousmane Diomande, appears financially out of reach at this stage of the window.
Guehi's situation is set to go down to the wire with less than 48 hours remaining before the transfer window closes. Palace previously turned down a 65 million pound bid from Newcastle for the England international, but the current circumstances surrounding his contract may force a more pragmatic decision this time.
In a window that has already seen Palace lose key forward Eberechi Eze to Arsenal for 60 million pounds, the potential departure of another core figure would mark a significant reshaping of Glasner's squad just as the new season gets underway.
