Richards Bay boss Ronnie Gabriel refusing to panic after fourth successive defeat

The Natal Rich Boyz snuck into the top-eight on the last day of last season to set up a MTN8 quarter-final clash with Mamelodi Sundowns that ended in a 4-0 defeat.

Gabriel's charges were improved in their league opener against Marumo Gallants but still ended up on the wrong side of a 2-1 loss.

Bay then went down 1-0 to Golden Arrows and most recently were defeated 1-0 by Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday with Gaston Sirino netting the only goal of the game after 57 minutes.

Next up is a home clash with Chippa United next Tuesday and Gabriel says his young team will keep improving with every match.

He told SuperSport after the game: "It's not the best start to the season and no team would like this kind of start to the season.

"Yes, today we were not on our best, we must admit that but based on the performances of our first two games, we were good.

"We did well in terms of goal-scoring chances created, final third entries, possession. We did well and dominated the opponents even though we lost.

"Although we lost the last two games but we're coming from good performances without the results. And we came here and had this type of performance today."

"Ideally, we would have liked to pick up points. But remember we also have youngsters in the team. We're getting them used to the PSL and are confident that it will come right going forward," added Gabriel.
